You’re On an Adventure With God

I love to travel. I don’t get to do it often, which is why it’s the one resolution I keep making every new year (to visit a US state I’ve never visited before). I enjoy exploring and seeing things I’ve never seen before. I enjoy being awed by what I can stumble onto. The saddest part of traveling is the ending of an adventure when there’s still so much to experience. But what I’ve realized is that adventure is everywhere. What I also love about traveling is the new perspective it gives me about my life. New places and new experiences give me a new way of looking at myself and the world around me.

This 2014, I want to encourage you that your journey is not done. On those days when you think, “This is as good as it’s gonna get,” remember that God is not finished with you.

God has a purpose and a plan for each of His children (Jeremiah 29:11), and it’s better than anything we can imagine because His thoughts and ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). Sometimes we think we have seen the big picture. We think we know the path God has for us and we take off on it. Or we think we’ve reached the big picture. We are where we are supposed to be. Life is good.

But we are on an adventure with God, and that adventure won’t stop until He calls us home to Him. So there’s more to our journey. We’re not done. I don’t know what your adventure will look like. It can be life-changing or it can be a small surprise. You may touch thousands of lives or eternally impact one person. I don’t know. I just know that your life right now, this very minute, is not as good as it’s gonna get. He has so much more in stored for you. So get ready. Get excited! You’re on an adventure with God!
