Love Language & Free Resources

UPDATE (Sept 2014): I took down that page because I refocused and reworked my blog. I still want to offer free resources so please stay tuned. Currently, I’m working on a free devotional ebook for blog subscribers (be sure you subscribe!).

Today’s my birthday! Since Receiving Gifts* is one of my top love languages (both how I feel and express love), today I created my Free Resources page. Be sure to check it out! There are only 3 things on there right now, but I will continue to add more as I create them.

It’s both easy and hard to find resources online, especially for ministry use. I know, I’ve tried. Take coloring pages, for example. There are many coloring pages out there, but sometimes, I can’t find an appropriate one. So, if I have time, I create what I need. Now I’m making them available to you!

And for the foreseeable future, I’ll be putting up coloring pages. I’m in the children’s ministry and so that’s what I have on hand 🙂 but one day, there will more than just coloring pages or children’s ministry-related resources. But I need your patience.

*Receiving Gifts: That’s not a hint in any way! 😀 Equal to that is Quality Time.
Have you heard of love languages? Dr. Gary Chapman wrote The Five Love Languages: How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate. Now, there are specialized love language books (like for singles, parents, children, etc).

Basically, people feel love differently and Dr. Chapman boiled them down to five ways. A person might feel love in one or several of these ways: Words of Affirmation, Acts of Service, Receiving Gifts, Quality Time, and Physical Touch.

Sort of on the flip side, we express love in different ways but it’s not necessarily in the same way we feel love. You might feel loved if someone spends time with you (Quality Time), but you might express your love by doing something nice (Acts of Service).

My explanation is obviously simplified. You can visit www.5lovelanguages.com to learn more about love languages, and even discover your love language profile.

What’s your love language?

I'd love to hear from you!
