Weekend Fun & Instagram

Weekend Fun

Since I finally joined the world of smartphones, I’m finally on Instagram or IG, as I found out people called it. There’s a lot I’m finding out about it, like how to post pictures from my blog, tag people, and take selfies 😀 I’m @annaangelars over there. Already I could tell that I’d post a lot of food pics if I don’t control myself.

Then I stumbled onto The Ugly Truth About Instagram by I Am Baker. It’s something I hadn’t considered because I don’t have pictures like hers, very beautiful and very much her property. It amazed me at how many people don’t truly understand the legal danger they put themselves in by essentially stealing content. Now that I understand as a writer. Read I Am Baker’s story especially if you have photographs on your blog.

Did you know a lot of Bible versions are not public domain (like the NIV)? BibleGateway provides copyright information for the different versions, such as their fair use clause. Just goes to show that we shouldn’t lay claim to what isn’t ours. After all, it’s not hard to give credit to where credit is due. Check out the NIV’s copyright information to get an idea.

“Lip Sync Battle” aired recently on Spike TV. Pardon me for not giving you a link, but it’s not the most appropriate show with swear words and middle fingers being thrown around. It is funny though and if you’re not easily offended, you might want to check out a bunch of celebrities lip syncing their hearts out and trying to out do their opponent with crazy costumes and choreography.

I also tuned it to watch “Younger” by TV Land. It was hilarious, but adult content. It’s about 40-year-old Liza who tries to re-enter the workforce, but couldn’t get a job until she lies and says she’s 26-years-old. I was intrigued because the cast includes Sutton Foster and Hilary Duff, and because I turned 30 this year. The relation of age and where I am in life just won’t leave me alone. My 12 years and 11 months younger brother likes to point out how I get a lot of millennial things wrong aka, “You’re old.” Thanks kid, thanks.

These explanations prove you can learn a lot from Disney.

Disney explains literary terms.
Themes, foils, denouements…what?

I am blogging on my smartphone, which isn’t new, but new to me and I’m loving it. What are some productivity apps you recommend?

What things should I check out for the weekend?

I'd love to hear from you!
