Every month, I’m taking a look back at the things I learned, loved, and lived through. I’m also looking forward to the next month. This is my look back at March, a month that tried to beat me up.

LEARNED
The beginning of March delivered me some bad health news. I went back and forth on being strong and breaking down. It took me the entire month, but I found and learned a new rhythm of life. I’m still adjusting to it, taking things one day at a time, and being brave everyday. March tried to beat me up, but I’m still here.
LOVED
“A Wrinkle in Time” was amazing! I read the book in 2016 for the first time ever, and I think – as simple as it is – this was a God thing. I was captivated by the world from reading the book and it was exciting to see it on the big screen.
Paper. I may have already geeked out over 8.5×17″ paper, but I had to buy 8.5×14″ and I’m geeking out again. Oh the possibilities of different paper sizes and weights! Weights! The heavier the paper weight, the thicker it is and oh…there’s so many kinds. Before you think I’ve lost it, here’s why I’m geeking out over paper.
This is our Easter goody bag and I was able to create ministry literature to put inside it. It seems silly, but we kidmin folks get excited over the little things!
LIVED THROUGH
Other than the emotional roller coaster I went through from getting bad health news, I read 9 books and I’ve been trying to be good at updating my GoodReads account. The noteworthy reads are:
Be the Hands and Feet by Nick Vujicic. His testimony is inspiring.
Is That Really You, God? by Loren Cunningham. If you’ve heard of YWAM and Mercy Ships, this book is how Loren listened to God to make His vision for those ministries happen.
Digging In by Loretta Nyhan. It almost makes me want to start a garden. Almost. I mean, I started a garden, it dies, and is now overgrown. But this is a great fiction read about big changes and taking hold of whatever will anchor you and give you sanity.
Do you read the sexy books? Be honest and let me know. Some of the plots are very interesting! If only the sexy bits were left behind closed doors.
This happened again! Part 2 of Instagram vs Reality with my friends.
LOOKING FORWARD
Spring allergies! Just kidding, but they’re coming and I’m actually ready. My doctor gave a me allergy meds specifically for asthma. I didn’t even know such things existed! I’m also looking forward to:
- Easter (by the writing of this post, Easter happened. It was great!)
- Sun and flowers
- These movies: “Avengers Infinity War,” “Rampage,” “I Feel Pretty”
Here’s me on Easter, blasted by the wind.
