Last week was brutal for me as I was sick the entire time. I felt like lightning striking me twice because I was just sick. I just got better. I was just getting into a good rhythm of daily life. Then bam! Sick again. We know that life’s not fair, but there are moments when you really feel it, you know?
There’s a BarlowGirl song called “One More Round” that I just love. Take a listen.
I’m pushing through the pain that tries to feed me lies that I won’t reach the end.
I am not defeated.
God is for me. Who can bring me down?
Right? Love this song. Although to be honest, I don’t want one more round of sickness. I don’t want one more round of being beaten down physically or mentally or in any other way.
But if I have to go through one more round, or two or a hundred, I will be okay. So will you.
“If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31b
It’s true, life’s not fair and we feel that more acutely on some days than others. But on those days when the waves won’t stop crashing, the beating won’t ebb, and you can hardly catch your breath, hold on. You are not defeated.
One more round. You can do it because you are not alone in your battle.
