Typhoon Haiyan, one of the most powerful typhoons ever recorded, hit the Philippines recently. The devastation is overwhelming. Its path hit Visayas, the center islands, the worst, but the destruction extended to so many places.
Some of our church members are from Visayas, and are waiting from their families. I’m waiting to hear from World Vision. My sponsored child lived in the area Haiyan went through, supposedly in one of the mildly hit areas. Though taking into account how big Haiyan is, I wonder what “mild” means.
