Students have been going back to school the past few weeks, and I’ve envied their back-to-school shopping. There just something about shopping for school supplies that excites me.
The great news is in August, my church starts collecting supplies for Operation Christmas Child! That’s right! A great excuse to go school supply shopping for those of us that are out of school!
Last year we filled up 115 shoeboxes. Our goal was 100. I’m excited to raise the goal this year and figure out ways to get entire families involved. One thing I learned from being in a ministry is that it’s never too late to learn new things, and sometimes you learn new things whether you like it or not.
Here are some people who learned some new things and are using their smarts in creative ways.
This guy took his smarts to the food level to figure out how to get an 86% bigger burrito from Chipotle. I’m not a Chipotle fan, but I’m impressed by his efforts. Plus, everyone who’s told me to get a bowl instead of a burrito was spot on.
This guy wants to to take his smarts to new heights by building a sky pool made entirely of glass in London by 2017. The concept pictures are giving me the shivers. Would you swim in it?
This woman used her smarts to reinvent the shower cap and they’re adorable. How often do you wash your hair? Would you use this?
On Tuesday, Emily P. Freeman‘s smarts were released into the world in the form of her new book. “Simply Tuesday: Small-Moment Living in a Fast-Moving World” is a must read for anyone who has ever felt small and insignificant and anyone who has struggled to in our fast paced world.
Because I adore Emily’s words and believe you need to hear them, I’m giving away a copy of “Simply Tuesday”! Enter below!

Disclosure: I received an early copy of Emily’s book for being part of her launch team. All opinions I have of her book are my own, and if you want them, I can show you pictures of how much I highlighted and wrote notes in this book because it speaks so much into my life. I liked it so much, I’m giving away a copy!
