The Blog-tember Challenge

Starting next Tuesday, September 1st, I’m joining Bailey Jean over at Brave Love Blog for the 2nd Annual Blog-tember Challenge!

Brave Love Blog

If you have a blog, join the fun! I will be following her Blog-tember Challenge prompts as well as adding my own twists. For example, one of the prompts asks about my personal style and fashion. I don’t talk about fashion in this blog, but I do talk about singleness and I’m getting excited to tye in style and fashion with living our single seasons for God (because sometimes, we are swayed to dress to seduce).

I also talk about ministry and if you don’t think ministry and fashion ever mingle, here’s Jim Wideman.

“Jesus said if you’ve seen Me you’ve seen the Father. Could this be said of you? Simple things like: dressing appropriately, not being silly, not building loyalties to yourself, and never talking negatively about those in leadership above you. Be your pastor’s biggest fan!” Jim Wideman (Kidzmatter Magazine, No. 47, pg 49, emphasis added).

This is a challenge to write everyday. I will post my answers on the blog or, when appropriate, on Instagram and Twitter. Newsletter Subscribers need not worry about inboxes filling up. We’ve got our own ways of reading blogs so my posts are not sent to you as emails.

I only send newsletters if I have actual news or to update you once in a while so you won’t forget me 🙂 That said, won’t you subscribe if you haven’t already? Your inbox will not fill up, but you will be one of the first people to get my latest news and updates. PLUS, you get a free devotional!

The Blog-tember Challenge also a lot like a getting-to-know-you challenge. It reminds me of the first days of school when you meet new teachers and new friends. I don’t have to go back to school, but joining the Blog-tember Challenge feels like I am. If you visit Brave Love Blog everyday in September, you will meet new bloggers and writers and possibly new friends!

I must admit, meeting new people is hard for me. Creating new friendships is even harder. If you asked me what my biggest weakness was, that would be it. Creating and maintaining relationships is like a mountain to overcome. I no longer begrudge myself for having a small handful of close friends. I love them. I’m an introvert and it’s my nature.

But being in a ministry means I have to open myself up to people instead of running away or avoiding confrontations. It means actually speaking to parents and building relationships with their families because that’s where I serve. This also goes for my eMinistry, this blog and writing I have dedicated to God. That’s why I’m joining the Blog-tember Challenge.

What about you? What mountains do you have to overcome in your ministry or in general? If you’re joining the Blog-tember Challenge, please let me know! And if you haven’t entered my first giveaway, enter it below!
