Book Review: “Something Needs To Change” by David Platt

Something Needs To Change: A Call to Make Your Life Count in a World of Urgent Need is a Christian nonfiction book where David recounts his experience of his week-long trek in the Himalayas and his reflections as he grappled with tough questions on faith, suffering, and meeting the physical and spiritual needs of those around us.

I read Something Needs To Change in only a few hours! David really does take you with him on his trek through the Himalayas and shares the thoughts, questions, reflections, and prayers he had along the way. I couldn’t stop reading because of his intriguing stories of the people he met along the way and his honesty in the issues he grappled with. He really brings you to a point of faith discomfort but addresses that discomfort by ending the book with challenges for you to think through regarding your life, what needs to change, and ways you can change it. There are also questions at the end of the chapters that can help you process and reflect. It’s a great read!

O God, please help me do whatever you want me to do with all you’ve given me. (David Platt)
