Happy Labor Day!

Love Jer1.5 Art

The above picture is a gift I made for a mom in church for her baby shower. You can’t tell but the canvas is painted a faint pink (she’s having a girl). I found the design on Pinterest 🙂 and decided to replicate it.

I wanted to share this craft because it’s cute and because the verse (Jeremiah 1:5) reminds me of God’s great love and plan for us. He knew us and set us apart before we were born. He has a plan for us.

Today is Labor Day in the US, a holiday that honors the working people. I know how work can be discouraging – no matter what line of business you’re in, even as church staff. There are many days when work is drudging, stressful, and meaningless. And there are times when we question if it’s the right kind of work for us, or struggle with leaving.

But we have a God looking out for us. He has a wonderful plan for our lives that we don’t yet see. Whether He wants us to do well in our jobs, turn down a promotion, or leave a stable job for full time ministry, God’s plan for us is always very good. The best, because God knew us before we were born. He set us apart.

So I hope you have a great labor day, whether you work 8-5, by contract, freelance, or hacking away at a novel or a blog. Keep at it, my friends. And trust that God is with you always.

I'd love to hear from you!
