I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I’ve tried to blog this week. I’ve accumulated a lot of draft posts and deleted even more. It’s like I’m out of words, and I’m running out of chocolate (because I’ve been nibbling on my chocolate bar as I stared at the blank screen).
It’s been frustrating to say the least, but I’m remembering (or trying to) to live in God’s grace, which gives me the freedom to just be. To breathe through challenges. To stop punishing myself because I think I’ve fallen short. To write for Him, or not to write but just listen.
I did want to write a weekend fun post so I can say hello and let you know I’m still alive (haha).
Hi there 🙂
Let’s Read
I’m reading…
Nothing! Okay, not quite true. I haven’t opened a book in a couple of weeks, which feels like a lifetime, but I have books on the way.
I have books on my to-read list, which is just my Nook color home screen and a stack by my bed. I’ve ordered more books on Amazon about family ministry because I wanted the The Orange Leader Handbook and needed more books to get free shipping.
Our children’s ministry transition to family ministry feels like it’s in a holding pattern. I feel like I need to move it forward, but at the same time, I don’t know how. Hence the books. And lots of waiting on God. So maybe it’s not a holding pattern, but a waiting pattern.
I also bought The Fringe Hours by Jessica Turner, and I’m excited to be part of the Bloom Book club. Check it out right here and join the fun!
I also picked up The Beauty of Grace by Dawn Camp. It has different writers contributing their thoughts on grace. I just had to pick it up because I feel like I’ve been struggling to live in God’s grace.
Let’s Eat
I’ve been munching on the Ghirardelli Cabernet Matinee Chocolate, which is like chocolate and wine in a chocolate square. If you’re a chocolate and/or wine lover, you should try it.
And drinking a lot of Starbucks. I’ve tried to limit myself to 1-2 times a week because I get serious jitters, but caffeine helps with cramps so…. Sorry, was that too much information? Have you tried their new Tiramisu latte? The baristas told me that it tastes like alcohol so it’s better to get the frappuccino, so I did. It still tastes like alcohol, and I figured out it tastes better when the whipped cream is thoroughly mixed in and the drink has melted under the sun a bit. It does remind me of tiramisu, so there’s that.
Let’s Wear
I found these boots at Target on clearance for $20. I had to get them half-a-size bigger because my calves are gigantic, but I am loving them completely. I’ve been looking for riding boots like these for a while. Target has a lot of boots on clearance, even online, so maybe you can score a pair as well.
Let’s Watch
Anthem Lights is a Christian singing group who did the K Love Fan Awards Mashup. They also do covers and other mashups of popular songs, but their original songs are amazing. I thought you might enjoy some of the funny short videos they’ve been releasing on their Facebook page like this one:
