High School lesson #2: Steal the bacon Spam and run beyond the finish line.
Here’s lesson 1.
Andy begged me to join the lunchtime activity “Steal the Bacon,” which was actually a can of Spam. Our class was one player short. I had hw to do, but that look of desperation on my friend’s face…. 🙂
When my number was called, 3 players from the other classes and I ran in that I-don’t-want-to-look-too-eager teenage way up to can of Spam. We circled the Spam. We eyed each other. Who would make the first move?
I did.
Only because I remembered that hw I had to do and wanted to end the game.
I grabbed the Spam and ran back to our line. Once there, I stopped and then I was tagged. I guess I didn’t run far enough.
If an opportunity – the right opportunity – presents itself, take it. Then run with it.
Run above and beyond what’s necessary until you’re absolutely sure that you did your best. Do this for school, for work, for God. Grab that Spam and run.
In other related news (in that I’m going to keep running with intentional blogging) I’m excited to join…
I love this Angela “Run above and beyond what’s necessary until you’re absolutely sure that you did your best.” Amen!
